Effect Take FTM Testosterone Changes ?

According to Trans Care, a service of Vancouver Coastal Health, the majority of changes associated with testosterone therapy occur during the first two years of treatment. Effects felt within one to three months include increased libido, clitoral growth, hair growth, dryness of the vagina, increased skin oil production, growth of musculature and fat redistribution. Between one and six months periods stop, and within three to six months after treatment begins the voice begins to change and continues to change for the next several months. During the second year of treatment, growth of facial hair and male-pattern baldness may occur.

  1. Trans Care needs to send their staff to school, and survey more than a handful of FTMs on HRT before making blanket statements. Its no wonder so many FTMs get depressed and try to over dose on Testosterone at 3 months, they are progressing naturally but are being told by airheads that the changes are almost instant. Most of the statements presented here are outrageously wrong for 90% of FTMs, so look like they took best case scenario from a couple lucky Transmen who are actually Intersex so react quicker.

I wonder where this "dryness of vagina" myth comes from. Simple biology: when libido rises vagina and Bartholin's glands produce more lubrication. Every FTM I have known (several hundred in 20 years) has reported increased "wetness" after beginning HRT. It is after oopherectomy that some encounter vaginal dryness, due to decreased estrogen just like post-menopause, but then Bartholin's glands start over producing because they are triggered by testosterone. Some have increased lubing forever, including those who have had oopherectomy and complete hysterectomy.

The most sudden changes come the first year, but fat distribution and musculature development is an on going thing that takes years for many FTMs to see a significant difference. Hips and thighs may stay "curvy" for 5 years, even with exercising. Plus the flat muscle we are born with never develop into big round muscles like XY males.

Most will not have visible facial and body hair growth for 6 months. Voice changing can start after 2nd shot and continue for life, I started HRT in 1990 and still have fluctuations.

In all, the information I have seen in your blog is very inaccurate and doing a huge disservice to both FTM community and the medical professionals that are trying to learn Trans medicine.
